Yes, believe it or not, I'm making waffles for breakfast this morning. With a waffle iron that I didn't even realize that I had. Neat, eh? They're turning out pretty good too. Waffles and season two of
Big O...great way to start the day!
For those of you who haven't seen it already, my hair has undergone a rather
startling change. Danielle cut my hair on Friday evening (and did a damn good job too!) and then added some red highlights to my hair with some stuff we found at Walmart. I happen to think it looks neat and it'll look even better as my hair continues to grow out more.
Thankfully, I was finally contacted to shoot a couple school holiday concerts next month in addition to the two dance recitals that I'm already doing at the beginning of December. It'll keep me busy doing tape duplications, but the money will be more than worth it. And since this year I'm scaling back a bit on Christmas gifting (especially between myself and Danielle, due to a mutual agreement since we're both poor), that money will be
extremely helpful when it comes to my bills and such, particularly the increased gas bills that I'm anticipating.
Taking Back Sunday on Sunday in Sayreville. Can't wait for that show.
And Danielle finally got her car back last night, good as new, so we're going out to dinner tonight (probably just to the diner) to celebrate that. Like we even need an excuse like that to hang out, I just love seeing her anyway. Although, the fries at that diner are pretty damn good too.
Now
THIS is a delicious looking burger.
Well, the show was pretty damn good last night.
Midtown was great and I was quite pleased that not only did I know every song they played, but that they played one of my recent faves,
'Waiting For The News'.
The Academy Is went on first and I was actually pleasantly surprised by them.
Hidden in Plain View was also excellent. Oddly enough,
Matchbook Romance was a little disappointing...the lead singer was off-key for the first half of their set, but by the end, he was sounding a hell of a lot better, especially as they closed out their set with
'Promise'. Overall, though, a very enjoyable show.
And I just found out something
extremely cool...the
Fall Out Boy show I'll be going to with Danielle next month?
Midtown and
The Academy Is are playing too! I get to see
Midtown again! And seeing
The Academy Is again is just an added bonus.
Ahh, it feels like I'm a teenager again...although, I have no desire to get into a mosh pit at my age. Might put out my back or something. :P A mosh pit erupted right where Mike and I were standing last night and it sent me into "Oh shit, I'm moving the fuck out of this spot NOW!" mode pretty quickly. I can't compete anymore with a bunch of 18 and 19 year olds thrashing about wildly. And I'll tell you this...the girls in the pit last night were about 1000 times more vicious than the guys. Yikes.
Time's been flying lately. Can't believe it's already November. Anyway, Mike and I are going to see
Midtown with
Matchbook Romance tonight at Irving Plaza, which should be a good show. I've wanted to see
Midtown for a while now and
Matchbook Romance is just an added bonus. Then in a couple weeks, I'll be seeing
Taking Back Sunday in Sayreville, NJ. And finally, a couple days after Christmas, Danielle and I, along with her friend Paula, are heading up to Philly to see
Fall Out Boy. I haven't been out to see this many shows in such a short period of time in, well, years. It's a nice feeling getting out there to see the music I enjoy once again.
One slight down side is that I have to be into work by 7am tomorrow. And doors don't open until 8pm tonight. And on top of
Matchbook Romance, there are two other openers, so it's four bands total...which means a potentially late night. Okay, maybe there's a reason I don't do this as much anymore. *laugh*
I did my duty today as an American, did you?
Also, don't forget, today's the Mexican Day of the Dead. Play some
Grim Fandango to get into the spirit.
