and meant, you're getting warmer. Stupid emoticons stealing our thunder.

And as Avery said... "Damn kids, get off my LAN!"
Of course it would figure that my first technical problem of the semester is one that I wasn't able to remedy. Laptop problems, seemed to be stemming from the video card, possibly a corruption in the driver. Which tosses it over to Educational Technology (although in the future, I'm going to make sure to carry the drivers for the ATI Mobility Radeon whatever on my USB thumb drive so maybe, just maybe, I can figure out the problem myself).
Well, it's about 9:10am on the first day of the Fall 2006 Semester and I haven't killed anyone yet (and I've been here since 7am). So far, so good.
Of course, it's still early...

Son of a...
Looks like it'll be announced soon.
Niklas Lidstrom will be the new captain of the Red Wings. I couldn't think of a better leader to succeed Yzerman (not replace, since Stevie Y can never be replaced).
And in other news, I went and got myself another tattoo yesterday. Well, sort of. It all started as based around my original yin-yang tattoo on my forearm that I had done over 10 years ago but now looks like a completely different piece of work. Hopefully I can get some pics up within the next few days. It was completely designed by
Tony Sciarra at Tattoo Factory in Ledgewood, NJ and I'm extremely impressed with the job he did. In addition, he left it kind of open-ended still allowing for future additions to the piece, while still maintaining a status as a completed tattoo. He pretty much re-did my original yin-yang adding more detail and shading to it in addition to adding a pseudo-tribal-type design around it. The pictures will do it more justice than my words.
I actually accomplished something today. Apparently someone thought it would be great fun to snip the plug off one of our overhead projectors, rendering it inoperable. Now, those of you that know me know that I'm the exact opposite of "handy". I've gotten better in recent years, but I'm still completely inept when it comes to most aspects of repair. Imagine my surprise when I was actually able to successfully replace the plug today, without any sparks, fire, or anything catastrophic happening. Yeah, yeah, I know, big fucking deal. But you have to realize, I am
clueless when it comes to shit like this. So now that I know I can actually fix a plug, that means there are a few other bad plugs on other pieces of equipment that I'll actually be able to fix. Imagine that.
No, my
laptop battery isn't among the ones recalled.
This is one of the most laughable examples of clone-stamping I've ever seen. Did this guy really think he'd be able to pass that photo off as unaltered? I mean, come on, I could have identified that as a bad clone-stamping job when I was 15 (and so could most of the other Photoshoppers on teh intarweb).
For anyone interested, I'm going to have a huge batch of comic book auctions going up on
eBay by the middle of next week (right before Danielle and I head out to Michigan for the weekend). Over 150 auctions, to be more precise.
I have 153 ready to go right now (various
X-Men titles, character-based miniseries,
Thundercats,
Voltron, and other miscellaneous titles) and I'm hoping to finish off my picture taking/auction authoring this weekend, clearing out my comic boxes of everything I own with the exception of any
Transformers,
Exiles, and
Deadpool-related titles.
If interested, my username on eBay is "kev-o-lution."
