end of an era...

And so, Fox Trot ends its run in the dailies and becomes Sunday-only...

First Calvin & Hobbes, then The Far Side and now Fox Trot...

Yeah, I know, it's not completely gone, but it still sucks. In any case, best of luck to Bill Amend. Enjoy your newly-found free time. You've earned it.

can i have my stick back?

Ha, Cheli's a jackass...and I love it!

(Minnesota's Stephane Veileux lost his stick under the Red Wings bench during the game on December 22. Notice whose skate is resting on top of the stick...)

doctor who...

The season finale of Doctor Who that aired on Sci-Fi tonight?

Wow. WOW.

I can't say much else. Damn, I love that series.

the mall.

To prove that NJ drivers are assholes, one need go no further than the mall during the holidays.

I was nearly involved in four separate accidents in a span of 4 seconds. Fun fun fun.

tees...

Awesome new Transformers t-shirt.

I already have too many tees though. Damn it.

But there's still another shirt too that I'd really like to get if anyone could find one for me in an XL...

Great game today, well worth the cost of the tickets. Below are some pics that I took during the game, click 'em to enlarge.

let's go red wings!

And that is where I shall be early tomorrow afternoon (no, not the players' bench, I wish!) in section 212 overlooking center ice, Devils vs. Red Wings. First Wings game for me in a while...so they better win, damn it. They let me down last time I got to see them, that time at MSG against the Rags.

Wish me luck in enemy territory!

speaking of weirdness...

At one point last night, I sneezed. This in and of itself is not a strange occurrence. However, what happened following the sneeze is. For some reason, still unknown to both Danielle and myself, after I sneezed she decided to say "happy birthday" instead of "bless you".

Neither of us know why.

Weird.

with apologies to jimi...

benadryl haze all in my brain

actin' funny 'cuz those little blue pills

verizon can't count.

I'm afraid for the future of the human race (or at least Americans in general) after reading this debacle.

I mean, I'm no math whiz and even I can understand basic math and the difference between .002 cents versus .002 dollars. That guy is heaps more patient than I am. About halfway through the exchange, I would have shattered my phone, made my way to the local Verizon store and started throwing mathematics books at the staff.

But that's just me.

omg, the sun, it burns!

It's actually nice out today, sunny and not too cold and all that. Still not quite as warm as that one December where my dad was out mowing the lawn at the end of the month, but it's a pleasant change from the bitter cold (why couldn't it have been like this when I was changing my tire on Friday?!).

Two more days left (including today) in the regular semester, then it's exams from Wednesday to next Tuesday...and then it's the holiday break for me. I'd say that you have no idea how much I need a break...but if you've been reading this blog long enough, you know.

In other news...
eBay is evil. And it's all Danielle's fault. But I'll be the owner of some new (old) G1 Transformers (and one Beast Wars figure for only $4.50, including shipping) very shortly thanks to it.

Back to work, la la la...

live from the bottle hill room!

It's The Professors!

Oh wait...you can't see or hear anything going on here. Guess you'll have to wait for when I have a clip sample up on my video production page.

Mwahahaha.

and now, for my final trick...

I think the universe just conspired to keep me in the teeth one final time this week. My car got a flat tire while I was doing equipment deliveries. Yay! So I had to spend 20 minutes out in the freezing cold changing a tire. Yay!

But at least that was followed up by a meeting that made me feel somewhat better (and maybe even a little optimistic) about goings-on here at work. I just need to look at it this way...I have about a week and a half of work left until the holiday break.

dell = pWn3d!!!111

Wow, this guy friggin' rocks. Those poor Dell employees in the kiosk must have been confused as hell.

just when i thought things were looking up...

Well, I thought the union would be able to sort this situation out at work...but apparently not. Since I'm not being verbally forced to work these ridiculous hours, there's not a real problem. Yeah, never mind the fact that if I don't work these hours, the campus won't receive the equipment they need to do their jobs, creating an even bigger nightmare for me. You think I want the administration breathing down my neck, bitching at me wondering why classes aren't getting equipment they need or why administrative meetings are being told that they can't have equipment because there's no one to get it to them? "Well, what about Kevin? He has to do it!" I'm being forced to work these hours out of necessity for the main purpose of the campus - CLASSES - but since I haven't been verbally forced, it's all hunky dory to keep working me like a dog because, well, technically no one's making me doing it! Yeah, right.

Well, fuck that. Just when I thought the union was serious about protecting employees, too. The job search continues...

how many ways can i get screwed over?

Okay, so now it seems that the campus mail system has decided to screw me over as well. Throughout this entire week, we've had mail pickup/delivery once. ONCE. It's Thursday. I have a package that, according to UPS, was delivered yesterday morning and is it in my hands yet? Nope. Where the hell is all our mail going? If I don't get that package by tomorrow (especially after I called and left a "WTF?!" message with the mailroom), I'm going to be royally pissed.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Library has had no problem with mail delivery. Figures.

a brand new car!

I had a bizarre dream last night; apparently, I was a contestant on The Price Is Right. I was in the Showcase too, but I lost. How disappointing that I didn't win that...uh...red Geo Metro. Yeah, I told you it was bizarre. I didn't even get to play Plinko either. Hmph.

transient dizziness to the extreme!

Google for "Effexor withdrawal" and you'll get a sense of how I'm feeling today. It figures that today's a 17-hour shift and I'm perpetually nauseous, dizzy, tired and my brain just feels like it keeps shutting off. Goddamn chemical dependency. Goddamn FDU. I just need to lay my head down somewhere for a while...but the way things have been today, I won't get a chance without some other debacle occurring somewhere on campus.

HEAT!

There's heat in my office! Sweet, glorious heat! I can feel it emanating from the grill behind me! Mwahahahahahaha!

Okay, there's one problem solved.

ice cold.

Still freezing in here.

Exhausted and can barely keep my eyes open. Even after 8 hours of sleep.

Tomorrow will be worse. 7am-11pm shift. Whee.

I'm determined to be good and awake for Friday, dammit (shooting another gig for
The Professors!).

perhaps rubbing a couple sticks together would help...

Another week and the office is still freezing. My toes are numb, my left calf is beginning to cramp up again and I'm getting sick once again due to the temperatures in here.

Business as usual, I suppose. As a wise sage once told me here, "At FDU, if it's broken...it'll probably stay broken."

But at least someone was nice earlier in the day and held a door for me as I wheeled equipment out of a classroom. Doesn't take much to make my day lately.
