WINGS WIN GAME 4!!!!!!
game 4 tonight.
Okay, we blew our chance to take a stranglehold on the series on Wednesday. But tonight, we can take a 3-1 series lead, which is still a hell of a lot better than a 2-2 series tie. So let's get the split in Pittsburgh and win the Cup at home on Monday!
Also, just added something to this main page that used to be on my profile page...it's a Last.fm widget, basically showing what music I've listened to recently. Figure it's more visible on the main page (felt like it was buried in my profile), so I'll see how it works here. At the time of this posting, I'm on a Nirvana kick, so that's likely what you'll see lots of for now.

my baby's back!
And by "my baby", I mean my desktop computer. (You may now commence pummeling me, Danielle...)
Power supply died on Saturday and I had to take it in for repair. Got it back today and she's back to purring like a kitten. Love it. Now that I've taken care of that (and uninstalled all of my stuff from Danielle's desktop, which I had to use for video work this weekend), I'm off to buy Danielle some Oreos and milk.

Okay, Game 6 tonight. This series can NOT go to a Game 7. Finish them off tonight, boys. You've let them hang around long enough. Play like you actually MEAN it tonight.
On top of that, I have to work Wednesday night, which is when a potential Game 7 would be. And I damn well don't want to be thinking about the Wings choking historically while I'm trying to shoot video...

it shouldn't be cold like this in may.
I'm sitting here at my desk absolutely freezing. When wearing my Wings jersey on game days, I usually have to turn on a fan to keep me cool as I end up burning up pretty fierce. Today, though, with it being in the 40s outside - and apparently the boilers in the building being turned off (which isn't unexpected in May) - my fingers are like ice. Hopefully my next task today (helping a professor put together a few clips from various films for a class of his) will keep me a little more mobile and thus creating some body heat.
Seriously, 47 degrees in the middle of the afternoon in May? Not fun at all.

There's a great article in the Dallas Morning News today about transplanted Wings fans and there was a line in the article that really stood out to me and answers the question, "Why hockey?".

nine inch nails - the slip : free!
If you're a Nine Inch Nails fan like myself, you'll be pleased to learn that the new NIN album is now available for free download here. All you need to do is provide your e-mail address and they'll send you a link (with a code) for the download. (Thanks to The Consumerist for the heads-up!)
I've only listened to a few tracks, but this is a new "proper" album, unlike Ghosts I-IV which was a collection of instrumentals. I haven't totally taken to newer NIN as I had their now-classic stuff, but this is my first listen of The Slip, so I'll have to give it a few more spins to see what grabs me.
