Am I late to the game?
Okay, admittedly, I jumped into Facebook a bit late - or rather, abandoned it early when it was a .edu-only site and joined back in much later - and while not exactly a newcomer to Twitter, I wasn't exactly a pioneer either. But I feel really silly for not having a LinkedIn account all this time when I probably really should have. I'd always see the place come up in Google searches if I was searching a particular name or whatnot, but never thought twice about it. One recommendation later (thanks Ryan!) and I'm now sucked in. But, as this blog title asks, am I really late to the game when it comes to LinkedIn or is it just now gaining momentum? I usually pay attention to this stuff, so I must begrudgingly admit that I'm woefully ignorant on this one.
Anyway, back to DVD authoring for now. I'm determined to get this done tonight so I can spend at least a little quality time with my PS3 and Wii before my next set of shoots pop up in less than two weeks.

Doctah says I need a backiotomy.
Danielle surprised me with a trip to the batting cages on Saturday and 'twas awesome, as I'd never been to the batting cages before. Now knowing the location of them, it'll be a good stress reliever after work from time to time. However, there's a bad side to all of this - I tweaked something pretty bad in my back while I was there and became mostly immobile for the weekend. Ow. And I just saw my chiropractor on Wednesday too, so she's gonna kill me for having to come back in today. But the batting cages were still ridiculously fun, despite the injury. I think I just need a new spine or something.

The sun is a sham.
Isn't this sunny weather supposed to have a positive effect on one's mood? Ain't doing it for me today. Sure, I'm at work and that's another matter entirely, but my mood isn't that fantastic even apart from that. Combine that with the fact that I've been getting constant tension headaches over the past couple weeks and it's just a miserable time all around. Meh.
In positive news, however, I'm almost completely caught up with the onslaught of video jobs that I absorbed over the summer, two more projects to go (not counting the three projects on which on STILL waiting on materials from the clients, one of which was originally shot LAST August, ugh). And then, of course, I have three gigs coming up next month that'll start it all over again. But I can't complain, it's money. It'll just keep me out of trouble (read: not spending money) on the weekends.
It's just a shame that I barely got to truly enjoy any of the vacation days that I took over the past month because I was too busy working on and worrying about my video work (or, during the latter part of my days off, agonizing over the complete clusterfuck joke that my day job has become since July 1st). I think the only "real" break I had was when we went out to New Hampshire, which was relaxing.
Pass the Xanax, please.
